Hi Everybody
I am delighted to tell you that our club will be opening its doors both inside and out from Monday May 17th. We have undertaken a detailed cleaning regime and general maintenance programme throughout the club in order to safely welcome your return.
We will be operating “normal opening hours” that we were on before Covid.
Previously when we opened indoors we restricted entry to just members and their immediate families however as you will be aware in normal times members are permitted to bring guests. As a compromise, initially we will allow a maximum of two guests per member to cater for those members that may otherwise be deterred from attending the club.
The only caveat to this is Snooker (please see section on snooker)
We would encourage you to limit guests particularly on potentially busy times like Friday evening for example as we would not want to reach capacity and find ourselves unable to accommodate all members that wish to attend.
If we find this short term policy restricts member’s attendance we will quickly review this.
Guests are subject to the same track and trace requirements as members.
We will still be under government guidelines until at least 21st June, however we believe we are on the next step of a crucial roadmap to normality.
We have not planned any events throughout the rest of May in order for members and staff to ease their way back to some sort of normality.
The slightly onerous processes are for everyone’s safety and required by law so please bear with us until we are fully out of this roadmap.
These long-winded bulletins ensure we do not fall foul of government protocol when opening up.
In order for us to operate within the law there are several things to note ;
We will be operating under the Rule of Six indoors which will be explained in more detail later in this notice.
We will NOT be operating a booking policy for the first week at least and will assess the smooth running of a walk in system going forwards.
By law we are only allowed to operate table service only and members will be allocated a table on arrival.
Everybody that comes into the club will need to register each time as a lawful requirement. The staff will not serve you unless this has been completed.
By everybody we mean - every member and visitor (over the age of 16) to provide his or her name and contact details (telephone number)
If you have a phone please ensure you have the NHS track and Trace App it will be much quicker and easier to log in. There will be a QR code that you can scan into your phone and it applies to Everyone unless you are complying manually (below)
If you don’t have the app you will need to put your details into a document manually.
We are legally unable to serve anyone that doesn’t comply with the Track and Trace requirement.
You will need to wear a mask at all times Except when sitting at your table when you can remove it.
We will be operating under the current RULE of SIX guidelines
Please read the criteria very carefully
Under Government Guidelines we can have up to six people from a maximum of six households sat together, or two households with any number. (We will limit this to 8 people). Unlike last year it is a legal requirement for us to record ALL people attending these sessions. Children count as one person.
We will lay out tables in the most efficient manner according to likely demographic. We are unfortunately not able to offer a choice of where to sit it will be allocated based on maximizing the seating efficiency to our demographic. Please do not ask to move tables it will make things more difficult for our staff.
There is an entry (Front Door) and an exit (fire door or garden gate) they are different. Please do not mix them up.
If the club is busy. rather than refuse entry we may ask whether you would be willing to share a table with another member(s). If you are dressed appropriately for the weather you may want the option of going in the garden. This flexibility is optional and may allow us slightly more capacity (We will not deviate from Government guidelines which could therefore increase any risk)
Do’s and Dont’s
Do
Wear a mask on entry and when not seated
Sanitise your hands on entry and after visiting the toilet
Log in to track and trace
Be patient when ordering. It takes longer to manage a table service system
Understand and use the Entry and Exit routes
Pay by card where possible
Give us constructive feedback
Don’t
Wander around the club
Return glasses to the bar
Go to the bar to order
Don’t stay at home, come and be a part of us all getting back to some sort of normality. We’d love to see you.
The support of club members in relation to renewing their membership has been amongst the best ever.
Club officers and committee are determined to keep moving the club forward both safely and innovatively. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Snooker
Snooker facilities in the club are re opening on 17th May. Members wishing to use this facility will not need to book a timeslot.
As from 7pm Monday 17th May the snooker room will be open to members and immediate family only.
You will need to follow Rule of Six as detailed earlier for indoor opening.
Staff will periodically check to see if you want to order refreshments, as you must stay at your tables unless playing a shot at the snooker table itself.
The ceiling in the snooker room has been replaced and plastered as part of our maintenance programme. In addition the room has been repainted and the carpets and upholstery have also been cleaned.
The snooker tables are booked in to be recovered however due to a number of factors this has been slightly delayed beyond our control. This will now take place at the earliest opportunity and we will notify members of any temporary closure
To enable us to open the snooker room, there are some rules to put in place for us to do so. The most important aspect is that players show common sense to the covid roadmap the likely risks and respect to fellow snooker players and members.
Players should routinely wipe down snooker balls, surrounding wood and any rests before and after play
Only 2 person per table to play at once
Whilst playing, players should sit/stand in the areas with raised plinths to await their turn.
We are not going to run a booking system, it will be a first come first served basis. Tables will be open during normal club hours. If you are playing and someone is waiting please keep your game to a sensible duration. It is reasonable to expect the players to finish their frame / or their light but not start a new one.
No more than 4 persons in the snooker room at any one time and must adhere to the COVID 19 rules the committee have set in place in and around the club (i.e. social distancing)
If you’re waiting to play or have finished your game and would like to stay in the club players should take a table in the club and not stay/wait in the snooker room
All empty glasses must be returned to the dirty glass point on the table inside the snooker room once players have finished
The snooker room will be monitored to make sure guidelines are being followed. Should this not be the case, the committee may withdraw the facility until the Government roadmap is complete.
All players will also have to pay to play as in previous years; the charge currently is the same as before 50p for 20mins light.
Garden
Subject to weather conditions and Government guidelines the Garden is open and available for use.
Restrictions are fewer in the garden so rule of six doesn’t apply but please exercise common sense, caution and sensibility.
We are still operating table service in this area
WIFI
We have upgraded our Wi-Fi both indoors and out
Club Members new Wi-Fi password is as follows –
CCWIFI1618
Note the letters are capitals
Lots of details are the norm in these unprecedented times.
Despite this we want you to come back safely and re acquaint yourself with the club.
As we follow the roadmap things will become increasingly less onerous and hopefully the risks will continue to diminish and we can all return to normal.
Stay safe and we hope to see you soon
Andy
Acting President
