Hello all golfers,
The new season is upon us so if you want to play with the Carlton Club Golf Society (CCGS) please read on.
We are really hoping to increase our numbers this year and would welcome any suggestions or help.
EVENT DATES:
We will book the first event for the first Sunday in April ie April 7th. This will be at Chichester and will be for the Stableford Salver.
After that and so that you can plan ahead, the events will be scheduled for the second Sunday of each month, through to October.
The second event therefore will be on 12th May and will be for the Medal Salver and will be at Wickham.
Both events pending confirmation of booking.
COURSES:
We will be looking at Romsey, Paultons, Petersfield, Cams. Skylark all within about 30-45 minutes travel time but would like to try a couple of venues e.g.. Milford, Pine Ridge or Worldham albeit we know that people seem to prefer being more local.
BOOKINGS:
It will be appreciated if you can put names and payment in the book at the Carlton Club by the given closing date.
NEW RULE CHANGES:
You should all familiarise yourselves with these changes to try to avoid any disputes but we will try to explain there at each event.
In addition and ideally to speed up play we propose that we eliminate playing a provisional ball, so if a ball looks like it may be out of bounds or lost, you look for it but if not found within 3 minutes, take a 2-shot penalty and play the next shot at the point where the ball was thought to have been.
HANDICAPS:
As before, the handicaps will be reset to the start of previous season. If you have a valid golf club handicap then please declare it. You should always play off the lower of your club or CCGS hcap.
GENERAL:
We will on occasions be able to provide food back at the Carlton club for some events and intend to do prize giving there where practical.
We look forward to seeing as many players as possible so if you know any other club members, relatives or friends who are not aware of the society please make then aware, all will be welcome.
Thanks
Jeff
