Again the front door is hardly ever locked which make a nonsense of the expense of supplying cards and the cost of the door is i suppose the reason you'll give is hot weather by the way I've no response to the letter I wrote to the AGM as I was away on holiday i wrote the letter at the request of Leslie Bleach as she wanted these topics brought up at the AGM regards John.

John, I will leave the committee to come back to you, but the proposal for the swipe system was to protect the staff at quiet times.
Nigel FARRAR proposed and Roger REYNOLDS seconded that the Club should “Install an automatic lock for use by
the members during opening hours. A Member would have to use their Membership Card to gain entry to the Club
premises”. It was stated that concerns had been expressed by some staff members and some Club Members that when the
Club is quiet both staff and members could be vulnerable to any member of the public having free access to enter the Club
and posing a potential threat to staff and /or Members. Although there had been no issues we have a duty of care as an
employer and Committee to offer as much protection to our staff and Members as possible
This is what the members voted for. I don't think you can put a price on staff safety? Why not have the door open when the club is busy if the staff consider they are not at risk?
