Hello Members
I’ve already stated in my last newsletter what a fabulous effort by all those who assisted with the fete this year, but I would like to thank them all again they did so good.
So what else has been going on in the club?
Kev Smith Solo 7th July
A big thank you to Kev, for the well-received evening for his acoustic session of music of protest, passion and peace. I’m looking forward to Kojaks coming back in a few months to entertain us with Kev fronting the band once again. Perhaps we can get a discount with all these bookings Kev?
Beach Party 22nd July
Sorry for those who missed the Beach Party, it was a great evening; cocktails went down well along with the hot baps. The band started off loud and proud with some great rock numbers, a bit too loud for my ears but after a gentle nudge it soon reached the right level for most but not all. It was noticed that the noisey crew in the corner were bopping along and the dance floor was packed by the end of the evening. A special thanks goes out to Smashie aka Chris Jenkins for the in-between and end music sessions, thanks Chris.
Poker Night 29th July
Congratulations to the 4 winners on their success in the “Texas Hold Em” night, a good time was had by all who attended. The next poker night will be 7th Oct there will be a limit of a maximum of 24 players so get your names in the book now. 1st deal 2000hrs sharp, no late entries accepted.
Goodwood Races
Once again the Goodwood trip proved so popular, that a minibus had to be provided to ensure that all those who wanted to attend this event did so. Roger Reynolds and the team of helpers did a fantastic job with the buffet and liquid refreshment (I will find out who you all are J). Steve Avis & Phil Dunk did a sterling job on the BBQ afterwards, a welcomed bit of sustenance to soak up the liquid drunk during the day. Well done all of you.
Bingo 7th Aug
What a night, best ever attendance, Lesley’s last one till Oct as she’s off to sun herself again in sunny Spain, bring some back for us in Blighty eh? Don’t forget next month on 11th Sept (a week later due to an international being played) Chris Erskine will be sorting the balls on this night.
