9th newsletter and the last before the festive season, there are several events taking place with the Christmas Dinner Dance and Kids Party have already sold out (Reserve list only now). Sorry to those who were not successful, but as the club in its current format can only hold a limited amount of people we are restricted by space and fire regulations. There are spaces for the other events so get your names in the book.
What been going on?
Saturday 11th Nov Kojaks
Another sell out gig for the fabulous Kojaks, everyone had a brilliant night. Kev and the rest of the band were even better than last year so a big thank you to them.
What’s coming up?
17th Dec Christmas Draw
This will be held straight after the Kids Party in the evening. Tickets are on sale now for this year’s Christmas draw (Top prize £500 with lots of other festive gifts and bottles). They are priced at 50p per ticket and £2.50 per book. Fill in your details and place money in envelope with stubs and hand to bar staff. Please take some for work family or work colleagues and return with stubs/money.
26th Dec Boxing Day
Music in the month event with a local entertainer, bring a plate of food for a sharing platter for this late afternoon event, music KO mid-afternoon (names must be in the book please for this event for bar staff numbers)
New Year’s Eve
The fabulous “The Great Sultans” http://www.johnbedford.co.uk/the-great-sultans/ are the entertainment for this night, tickets go on sale 19th Nov £12 members and £15 non-members.
Carlton Club Cook Book
Robbie (our resident Panto prompt), has offered to oversee a recipe book for members of the club favourite dishes, so if you have a delightful dish pop it into the club or [email protected] and Robbie will endeavour to make you famous as a contributor (The Sunday lunchtime crew are still waiting for the tasters to arrive???). My Pork Normandy has been deposited for possible selection.
Darts
The men’s Wednesday dart team are having an up and down time with results at the moment, all involved are still enthusiastic though and hopefully they will improve as time goes on. The team will have a rematch against the legends soon all welcome to come in and watch that one on 28th March 2018
Bingo
Lesley’s Bingo is getting very popular, for those that don’t know it’s on every first Monday of the month “eyes down” at 8pm
Quiz
Our quest quiz masters are doing a fantastic job every Thursday, if you want to play it starts at 9pm or even give it a go of being quiz master.
Karaoke
Phil “the tonsils” Dunk continues with Karaoke every second Sunday of the month, pop along and give us a tune.
Important Notice
Snooker players please note that the snooker room will be out of bounds from next Tues 28th Nov until the panto is over. It will also be out of bounds on the 15th December until 18th December, this is to enable the Christmas grotto to be set up in readiness for the Children’s Party on the 17th
