Sky Sports
The Club committee have a responsibility to control costs and use members’ contributions and bar profits wisely to ensure the popularity of the club continues and thrives.
Bearing this in mind, the cost of subscription based TV sports continues to rise and is one of the single biggest annual expenditures of the club. The contract is due for renewal after Xmas and there are a number of options that are available for consideration.
In order to ensure we understand the view of all club members in this area the committee plan to issue a survey in week ending 16th November. This will help us make a sound business decision in choosing the selection of sports we show and the provider we may use.
The survey will present all the facts for members to consider and comment against. I urge everybody to make an effort to engage with this survey because any large expenditures or savings impact greatly on our club and in turn affect everybody.
Membership Cards
It has been brought to my attention again that members are passing their cards to their guests for use at the bar. May I remind you that this is a club rule not to pass them on.
Club Rule 30 (Membership cards) clearly states ’’The cards are not transferable and cannot be used by any person other than the Member named thereon’’.
Anyone found doing so is in breach of club rules and could be subject to disciplinary action under rule 9. (Conduct)
Can I also remind that all temporary members need to attend the club regularly if they wish to be considered for membership and record each visit in this visitor’s book, the book is regularly monitored.
27th Oct - First time at the Club was Dan Hadfield as Gary Barlow he was outstanding the many members and guests who attended had a fantastic night, Adam you really need to get this guy back next year.
