Hello Members
This is my first communication with you on my second stint as club president, some of you are aware that I was not planning to be president again, but we are where we are. The committee needs a mix of experience coupled the newer members to be involved with taking the club forward. We have a great committee with a possible spot available if your wishing to get involved (its not that scary). We do need a president for next year as well??
The club keeps going from strength to strength and I wish to continue that theme. So, here’s quick peak of the journey for the club that is planned for this year so far. Its early days and any suggestions are more than welcome, speak to a committee member or drop us a note.
Last weekend’s Bank Holiday was a cracking day was outstanding weather, which we took advantage of with some music in the garden from one of our own members. Looking to do a similar event next bank holiday and throughout the summer months, weather permitting.
Father's Day Sunday 18th will have a pint a pie & roasties available for £5, names in book so we can get the correct number of pies in (let us know any dietary requirements)
25th June – Weather permitting another garden music event

10th Mar Mother’s Day event
7th Apr Kids Easter Party
There will be a host of other events as we plan them during the year, with many ad-hoc events. Keep an eye on your emails and social media for all of these. I would welcome any ideas for functions you would support, already have nudges for a Ska band, Northern Soul night, the return of Elvis and not forgetting the unforgettable Kojaks.
Sporting events that will be shown on the large screen are the EURO Qualifiers and the 6 Nations rugby from Feb 2024. (Please note the 9th Sept Ukraine v England game will only be shown in snooker room). We have the lionesses playing too following their success last year, although on very early in mornings (details to follow on that one).
The regular Bingo (1st Monday of the month) & Quiz every Thursday along with Key to a Fortune (1st Friday & as advertised) all will continue throughout the year.
The club will continue on its refurbishment programme timeline to improve facilities in the club, please keep your ideas coming in as this will shape the priorities we as a committee face.
Bar staff would greatly appreciate empty glasses being returned to the Bar. The Bar Team are doing a fantastic job so let’s help them help us!! Also if your in the garden, please leave it how you found it, the foxes will have a filed day with any left over snacks and they quite like leaving the parasols in a stinky mess, so please return after use.
Your support throughout the year is needed, please come and have a chat with me at any time, although if it’s important suggestion or comment. It will need to be sent into committee as my memory may well be fuzzy from socializing (hic). I'm looking forward to making new friends and cementing the ones I have already made in this great club of ours.
